Course Objectives: The goal of this program is to provide nurses with information about norovirus infection, sometimes called "stomach flu," "stomach bug," "24-hour flu," "infectious diarrhea," or "food poisoning." After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
- Name three reasons why noroviruses are so easily transmitted in closed settings.
- Explain why some people are more likely to become infected with norovirus than others.
- List the clinical criteria used to differentiate norovirus gastroenteritis from bacterial or parasitic gastroenteritis.
