Course Objectives: The goal of this program is to provide nurses with evidence of the sex differences that contribute to making lung cancer the leading cause of cancer deaths among U.S. women. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Describe three factors that may contribute to sex differences in the incidence of lung cancer.
  • Discuss prognosis and treatment outcomes in women with lung cancer.
  • Describe three nursing interventions that increase awareness, encourage screening, and support advocacy and research in lung cancer prevention and treatment.
