Course Objectives: The purpose of this program is to provide nurses with up-to-date information on a virulent new strain of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) appearing in our communities. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Identify three conditions associated with transmission of community-acquired MRSA.
  • Discuss three important differences between community-acquired MRSA and hospital-acquired MRSA.
  • Describe three important community-acquired MRSA prevention strategies.
